I am an artist and a yoga teacher.

Through yoga and movement, I was able to listen to my body. By doing so I was able to to embark on a journey of reconciliation with my past and negative compulsions that were no longer serving me–shame.

Shame is at the root of a lot of my work; through my experiences and my emotions, shame is what I found was the most destructive, but the most valuable thing to learn about myself.

It started with feeling safe and the reasons why I felt the need to feel safe. It progressed to consent, and then menstruation. And then this beautiful thing happened–I wanted to let go–to shed all of it. Just as my body does every month. Just as nature does naturally.
